Seven ways TruffleTrace keeps the orchard connected

TruffleTrace is in development. The capabilities below are planned for the first release, organized around the tree, row and block your crew already uses to talk about the orchard.

01 — Shared tasks

Assignments, deadlines and who completed the work

Tasks carry a location, an owner and a deadline, so the whole crew can see what's outstanding without a separate phone call. Completed work stays on record, with who did it and when.

In the orchard: assign a leaking irrigation line in the north block to a crew member, set a deadline, and mark it complete once the repair is done.

02 — Things We Need

Request parts and supplies, and track delivery

When a task needs a part, log what's required, note who's bringing it, and track whether it has arrived — instead of chasing the answer over text.

In the orchard: the irrigation repair needs new fittings. Log the request, have a crew member commit to bringing them Thursday, and mark delivery once they arrive.

03 — Message board

Team discussions, photos and announcements — connected to the work

Post updates, photos and announcements tied to the block or task they belong to, so context isn't lost in a general group chat.

04 — Orchard forecast

Weather context for planning fieldwork

A daily and hourly forecast gives fieldwork context for the orchard — planned as reference information, not automatic irrigation control or agronomic advice.

In the orchard: check the hourly forecast before scheduling the irrigation repair, so the crew isn't caught mid-job by rain.

05 — Orchard map & tree records

Permanent tree and position history

Each tree position keeps its own history, with row labels your team can edit and coordinate accuracy recorded alongside the position — an honest account of how precise a field-captured location is, not a promise of survey-grade precision from a phone.

In the orchard: rename "Row 12" to "Upper North" for the whole crew, and see that position 14's location was recorded with a phone GPS with several meters of accuracy.

06 — Planting, maintenance & harvest history

A full record for every tree, with forecasts kept separate from fact

Planting dates, maintenance events and truffle harvests build a history for each tree or block. Actual recorded harvests are kept clearly distinct from later yield forecasts, so no one mistakes a projection for a result.

In the orchard: position 14's record shows a 2019 planting date, a recorded December 2024 harvest, and a separate, clearly labeled forecast for December 2025.

07 — Fast field capture

Built for a phone in hand, between rows

Field capture is designed to be quick to use standing in the orchard, with offline capability planned so a note, photo or task can be saved without a signal and sync once connected. This is a planned capability we're building toward, not a claim that every scenario works offline today.
